PJ EDMUND, SR

SENIOR & LEAD PASTOR

Bishop PJ Edmund, Sr., the Senior Lead Pastor of Timbrel Church, is widely and highly respected as a key voice and mind in the Kingdom of God. He is celebrated for his in-depth examination and powerful presentation of God’s word.  The Kingdom is calling for the emergence of relevant preachers and leaders who can communicate and demonstrate an accurate and substantive vision for reaching this generation. In times like these, God raises up ministers equipped to carry the power of the Gospel and to bring restoration and healing to a hurting and disconnected generation; Bishop PJ is such a man.

Dr. PJ is one of six children born to the late Bishop Gerald and the late Pastor Sweedie Edmund, a third-generation apostolic bishop stemming from his late grandparents, Bishops Christine Agatha and Charles Constantine Walsh of the Shiloh Apostolic Churches of Jamaica, West Indies. He is the Establishmentarian of Timbrel Church International, Inc, “Commissioned to Renew Lives” in District Heights, Maryland.  As the lead Bishop of Pneuma Fellowship of Covenant Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., he has keen oversight, passion, and vision to independently cover, coach, mentor, and guide several pastors, churches, and leaders, both nationally and internationally. He credits his rich preparation in ministry to the environment created by his pastors and mentors:  his parents, the late Bishop Sydney Alexander Dunn, and the late Chief Apostle and Presiding Bishop Monroe R. Saunders, Sr.

Bishop PJ has “an earned” PhD in Philosophy in Christian Counseling & Psychology; a master’s in theology; and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He is both humbled and honored to be the proud recipient of two Honorary Doctorates: one in Divinity and one in Humane Letters, as well as recognition from Howard University in Washington, DC, with the Chief Executive Award in Christian Leadership. Currently, he serves as the President of Edmund Divinity School, in partnership with Cornerstone Christian University and Seminary, overseeing the instruction of Kingdom leaders pursuing theological degrees from the Associate’s to the Doctoral level, primarily in Biblical Studies. Dr. PJ has authored nineteen (19) books, including Failure Did Me A Favor, Finding Flow, and A Theology in Leadership (A Commentary on the journey of leadership modalities influencing the Episcopacy). He has been married to Pastor Michelle Edmund for over thirty-six (36) years, and together, God has blessed them with three gifted children, PJay, Jr., Brittany, and Eryka; daughter-in-love, Miche Shanice; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Tayler, Talia, and Tymir. PJ loves the Lord and continues to serve at the highest level of church leadership and as an honorable pastor.

CHELLY EDMUND

EXECUTIVE PASTOR

Executive Pastor Michelle Elizabeth Edmund of Timbrel Church is a tremendous preacher and teacher who effectively and efficiently oversees significant auxiliary ministries within Timbrel’s vision. She passionately and committedly serves with her husband, Bishop PJ Edmund, in the vision of Timbrel Church International. She oversees a Council that serves several ministries, including the SALT Youth and Young Adult Ministries and the Music Ministry. A breath of “fresh” anointing is perhaps the best way to describe the heaven-sent ministry of Dr.Chelly Edmund.  The Kingdom and her local Church have been immensely loved and blessed by the radiant spirit she embodies in every facet of her ministry. In times like these, God raises up ministers equipped to carry the power of the Gospel and to bring restoration and healing to a hurting and disconnected generation; Executive Pastor Chelly is such a woman.

She is the only girl among 6 children born to Deacon Mottomoes and Mother Elouise Johnson, a stalwart, church foundation-building couple who have supported the growth and development of their local church, both at First United Church and, more recently, by supporting their son at New Harvest Ministries. The musical gifting of Deacon Johnson, a gifted pianist who played by ear, began a rich deposit of musical talent and gifts in all his children and grandchildren.

Dr. Chelly Edmund partnered with her husband, Bishop PJ Edmund, in establishing Timbrel Church, which has stood the test of time, bringing many souls into the Kingdom of God, and in training to exude the love of God and compassion within the context of divine ministry. She also credits her rich preparation in ministry to the environment created by her parents, her pastors, and mentors:  the late Chief Apostle and Presiding Bishop Monroe R. Saunders, Sr., and the late Elect-Lady Mother Alberta Brockington Saunders, who saw to it that all that they raised in ministry understood that “the power is in the love”.

Pastor Chelly has served the body of Christ as an inspiring psalmist with two CD releases to her credit.  She has served the body of Christ as an inspiring psalmist in both England and the United States.  Her CD features two songs: “Remember” and “Waiting”; both are wonderful collections of praise, worship, and celebratory music that fill the listener with a keen awareness and desire to enter the presence of God, where change and transformation can take place. To hear Pastor Chelly minister the Word in song is to know that what she shares is much more than musical or lyrical; it is simply spiritual!  The music and words that God creates through her are influenced and ignited by the Holy Spirit to inspire hearts and minds to enter worship.  She has traveled throughout Europe and the United States musically and now preaches the Gospel with integrity, power, and conviction.

It is, however, her influence on her own children that has prepared them to serve joyfully and meaningfully in ministry today. That sense of “home first” ministry prioritization has led her to extend that love to four (4) rewarding grandchildren: Tyler Joel, Tayler Moriah, Talia Gabrielle, and Tymir Edmund. Her children, Minister PJay Edmund, Minister Britanny Chantelle Edmund, and Minister Eryka Christine Edmund, through the ministry of both of their parents, have made an incredible impact on the local, regional, and international Church.

Dr. Chelly Edmund is the proud recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Cornerstone Christian University, an earned associate’s degree in early childhood development, and an earned bachelor’s degree in biblical studies.  Chelly loves the Lord and continues to serve at the highest level of church leadership as an honorable pastor.
